A marine-based alternative to traditional steamed bone meal and a great source of organic phosphorus and calcium (12%-17%). Derived from fresh cuttings of marine white fish processed for human consumption. The raw material is cooked and the bone is separated and dried under high temperature-short time conditions. The meal is a light brown in color and is a free flowing powder with a mild fish smell and free from any foreign material or bone pieces.
The guaranteed minimum analysis as per the feed label 5-6-0. (Note that Phosphorus is listed at 3% on the label. P2O5 = P x 2.29) However, typical analysis shows 16-20% P2O5.
Row Crops/Acreage: Apply 500-1,000 lbs per acre depending on specific crop needs or required pounds of actual nitrogen per acre.
Bulbs: Add 1 tbsp per hole for average size bulbs, more for larger varieties. Mix thoroughly into soil and water in well.
Containers: For new plantings, add 1-2 tbsp per gallon of soil and mix thoroughly or add 3-6 lbs per cubic yard. For established plants, lightly mix 1-2 tbsp per gallon into the soil surface once each month during the growing season.
Trees & Shrubs: Spread 1 lb per 2″ of trunk diameter around the base outwards to the drip line, mix into soil surface and water in well. For new trees, prepare transplant hole and mix 1-2 cups with the back-fill soil. Use the amended soil to fill in around the new tree and water in well.
