Organic Status:

Red clover is a short-lived (2-5 years) tap-rooted perennial legume that fixes 100-150 lb Nitrogen per year, mobilizes soil phosphorus and penetrates hardpan.

Growing red clover + grass for one to three years restores soil that has become "tired" from intensive cultivation, building organic matter, tilth and fertility while suppressing weeds.  Clover can also be over seeded into corn, vegetables or row crops when the latter are at mid-growth.

Also available in a 1 lb Bag

Seeding Rate: Plant red clover 1/4 to 1/2 inch deep in early spring or late summer at 10-15 lb/ac (4-6 oz/1,000 sq ft), with oats at 40-50 lb/ac (1 lb/1,000 sq ft) and (optionally) ryegrass, orchardgrass or timothy at half the normal recommended rate.
