The high nitrogen is rapidly available, making it ideal for heavy feeders, such as leafy greens, corn, brassica crops, tomatoes and peppers. Blood meal should be incorporated into the soil prior to planting or worked into the soil around existing plants. Blood meal lasts for about 6 weeks after application. It can also be used to assist in heating up compost piles.
Apply as needed by crop. 9 lbs/1000 sq ft is equivalent of 1.2 lbs/1000 sq ft or 50 lbs/acre of nitrogen.
