We are located in Check, Virginia. We do not have a retail store but we are open for pickups by appointment. Please see our Contact & Info page for directions more information about scheduling on-site pickups.
Approved for Organic
Most of the materials we offer are approved for use in certified organic production. There are a few exceptions, which are noted in the item descriptions. We make every effort to ensure the accuracy of the compliance/certification status designations on our website but the responsibility for compliance with any given certifier is ultimately the grower’s. If you have questions about an item’s compliance status please check with your certifier. Links to labels and certificates (where applicable) can be found on each item’s web page.
Nothing that we offer should be eaten directly by people. This includes seed, feed, kelp, alfalfa, molasses and all of our fertilizers. These things are all meant to grow healthy crops or livestock, which can then be eaten by people.
Not all materials are approved for use in every state. As with certification, we make every effort to ensure the accuracy of the current registration status for each item but the responsibility for compliance with any given state is ultimately the grower's. Online databases such as Agrian, CDMS or Greenbook can be used to check a material's registration in your state, or you can contact your state's dept. of agriculture.
Application Rates & Instructions
Application rates and instructions can be found on item description pages or product labels. Application rates for fertilizers vary by crop and site and should be calculated according to soil tests or a known nutrient demand/deficiency. EPA registered materials (pesticides) are federally regulated and should always be applied according to the instructions on the label. Labels for these materials are available on the item’s description page.
Orders are processed in the order in which they are received. Expedited orders will be processed ASAP once completed. Most orders ship directly from our warehouse in Check, VA.
Freight – Pallet shipments will be sent via common carrier. Once a shipment is unloaded from a delivery truck it is the customers responsibility to handle it. If you have special requirements (limited access, delivery date requests, inside delivery, etc.) please give us a call at 800-540-9181.
Mail-order – Mail-order shipments will be sent via UPS or USPS. Orders received after 12 pm EST typically ship the next business day. Orders placed on the weekend (after 12 pm EST Friday) will ship in the order in which they were received.
Expedited orders – Expedited orders (Next Day Air, 2nd Day or 3 Day Select) placed after 12 pm EST will be shipped the next business day. Expedited orders placed on the weekend (after 12 pm EST Friday) will be shipped on the next business day.
Hazmat items – Some items are classified as Hazardous Materials by UPS and freight carriers. These items have fixed shipping costs and are not eligible for expedited shipping options.
Packaging – Whenever possible we use recycled packing materials and boxes. If the box doesn’t look like it matches the item(s) you ordered please take a look inside!
International shipping – We can ship most items to Canada. For shipments to Canada, please call 800-540-9181 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for a quote. For other international shipments, we do not ship directly but we can ship to a freight forwarder of your choice located in the US.
Returns & Claims
We can accept returns of unopened, unused items (excluding some biologicals) for a refund, less shipping cost. Returns must be approved in advance and must be made within 30 days of initial delivery. Refunds can only be applied to the credit card that was used to make the initial purchase. Restocking fees may apply. We are not able accept returns of opened, damaged, biological or drop-ship/non-stock items.
Damaged orders – If you have received a damaged shipment, please make a note of this with the carrier, take photos of the damage and call 800-540-9181 or email email@example.com and we will work with you to resolve the issue.
Shortages and mis-shipments – If you have received an order with incorrect or missing items please call 800-540-9181 or email firstname.lastname@example.org and we will work with you to resolve the issue.
