Blood Meal (13-0-0) - A natural source of nitrogen, blood meal is ideal for promoting lush and green vegetative growth. The blood meal has a high mineralization rate, making it ideal for heavy feeders, such as leafy greens, corn, brassica crops, tomatoes and peppers. Blood meal should be incorporated into the soil prior to planting or worked into the soil around existing plants. Blood meal lasts for about 6 weeks after application. It can also be used to assist in heating up compost piles.
