Trifolium incarnatum. This iconic spring cover crop has bright crimson spikes on ~18" plants and usually flowers in late April to early May. Frost tolerant and hardy to -5°F. Reseeds well if allowed to fully mature. Good for N fixation, weed suppression, pollinator forage, and erosion control. Works well in blends with cereal grains. This seed is grown to USDA Organic standards on a family farm in the Mid-Atlantic. Uncoated - an inoculant is recommended to ensure maximum N fixing potential.
