Endomycorrhizal Inoculant (BEI) Micronized Powder - 1.5 lb

  • Organic Status - OMRI Listed

From BioOrganics this product contains a blend of nine species of Endomycorrhizal spores: Glomus aggregatum, G. etunicatum, G. intraradices, G. mosseae, G. clarum, G. deserticola, G. monosporus, Gigaspora margarita, and Paraglomus brasilianum. The spore count guarantee is a minimum of 50 spores per gram: minimum of 10 spores/gram for each of the first four listed and minimum of 2 spores/gram for each of the last five listed.

This is a general-purpose inoculant for all endomycorrhizal-dependent plants, including most vegetables, grapes, fruit trees, berries, turfgrass, and flowers.

This product is water soluble. It can be dusted on transplant roots, blended into potting soils, worked into soil before seeding, or scattered on lawns and flower beds. Use at the beginning of the season for annual plants and at planting for perennial plants. One inoculation is all that is required for permanent plantings.

Keep in dry, dark storage at or below room temperature. Refrigeration is fine but not necessary. Guaranteed shelf life of two years from date of manufacture (stamped on packaging).

Plants that do not form endomycorrhizal associations: Brassicas (cabbage, mustard, radishes, etc), Pines (Pinaceae family), hardwoods in the Fagaceae family (oak, beech, chestnut), and hardwoods in the Betulaceae family (alder, birch, filbert). The trees have relationships with ectomycorrhizal fungi.

Plants that form mycorrhizal associations with other species: Ericaceae family (blueberries, rhododendrons, azaleas) and Orchidaceae family (orchids).

Transplants: Sprinkle inoculant directly on roots or root balls at planting time, or scatter inoculant in planting holes. Apply at least 1 teaspoon to new trees or vines.
Seeds Pre-planting: Dust dry inoculant on seeds at minimum rate of 1 lb. per acre. Seeds may need to be slightly dampened.
Existing Plants: Probe 2-8 small holes in area of new roots. Push 1 teaspoon down holes to root zone.
Seedling Trays: Mix into water at a rate of 1/2 cup/gallon and drench trays. Water lightly to keep inoculant in soil media and not flowing out the bottom. Keep mixture agitated, and use within 24 hours.
Potting Soil: Mix in 1 lb./cubic yard or 2 tablespoons/cubic foot.
Lawns: Apply as soil drench, 1 tablespoon/gallon, each gallon treats 50 sq. feet. Follow immediately with watering in.

Applied to plums & apples in West NC

I cannot know for some time whether it made a difference to my apple and plum tree bareroot plantings, but I do know I've always been treated with top-notch customer service from Seven Springs! And for that reason I'm confident they helped me choose the right product for the application, with the right quality and freshness.
