Beauveria bassiana strain BW149 is a naturally occurring soilborne fungus that attacks mites, corn borers and other insects. This living biocontrol works by attaching to the pest, germinating, and penetrating the cuticle of the pest, then replicating rapidly inside the pest causing mortality. Begin treatments at the first appearance of pests and apply at rates and intervals according to pest pressure and as directed by the label. Principle WP is most effective when treatments begin early, before pest populations are high. Labeled for soft-bodied insects such as whiteflies, aphids, thrips and mealybugs, as well as moths and caterpillars, beetles, crickets and grasshoppers, flies, plant bugs, and weevils.
